Barbers Hill
ISD is a suburban district encompassing 192.3 square miles in
western Chambers County, Texas, strategically located at the
intersection of Interstate 10 and State Highway 146. Its borders
consist of the Trinity River on the east to Harris County line
on the west; from Trinity Bay on the south to Liberty County
line on the North. This large area contains four distinct
communities (Mont Belvieu, Old River-Winfree, Cove, and Beach
City) brought together by a common bond: the school
system.
Barbers Hill is
experiencing a 9.5% annual growth rate and has approximately
3400 students. Barbers Hill High School ( grades 9 -
12) has approximately 950 students and is joined by a middle
school (grades 7 & 8), an intermediate school (grades 5 & 6),
and two elementary campuses. A new elementary campus is
currently being built.
Barbers Hill's Operations department
consists of 5 distinct groups, and provides the
backbone of support for the educational facilities of the
district. From air conditioning to the transportation
fleet, Operations makes the business of educating students
