BUSINESS COMPUTER
INFORMATION SYSTEMS I
(BEGBCIS1) Rapid advances in computer technology have a sufficient impact on our society. These advances indicate that the computer will continue to have an ever-increasing role in the future. This course prepares students to function in an environment in which computer confidence has become the expected norm. Students develop an understanding of the entire area of computers, while at the same time developing precise hands-on skills in using common software applications. These applications include word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation programs. [Top]
ADVANCED BUSINESS
COMPUTER INFORMATION SYSTEMS
(ADVBCIS1) In this course students will learn advanced application skills within Windows XP and the corresponding versions of Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel and integration of various software. Upon successful completion, students will be prepared with the computer application skills necessary to work competitively in the job market with a head start in the field of computer applications and technology. The utilization of the knowledge gained of Windows XP and the applications entailed in this course can be beneficial throughout college education and career choices. [Top]
COMPUTER PROGRAMMING
(ADVBCPI) In this course students learn advanced programming and problem solving skills utilizing the Java programming language. Upon successful completion of this course students will be prepared with the knowledge and skills to advance to collegiate-level programming course work. [Top]

(COMPSCI) In this course students learn advanced programming and problem solving skills utilizing the Java programming language. Upon successful completion of this course students will be prepared with the knowledge and skills to advance to collegiate-level programming course work. [Top]
DESKTOP PUBLISHING
(TADTP) Using a specific desktop publishing program and a variety of electronic and digital equipment, students will learn basic elements of page design including text, graphics, headlines and white space in order to produce a variety of printed materials. These include one-surface objects, multiple or bound pages, stationery, book jackets/magazine covers, pamphlets, magazines, brochures, labels, newsletters, greeting cards, etc. The class will be project-based with the possibility of publishing quality materials for groups within the school setting as well as in the community. DIGITAL GRAPHICS/ANIMATION
(TADGA) This course entails creating digital images and animated graphics for integration into productivity tools including web pages, word processors, database software, spreadsheets, telecommunications, and utility programs. Some of the objectives of the course include: combining graphics, images, and sound for foundation curricular projects, creating visual unity and desired effects in designs, establishing basic design and layout principles, using the appropriate scripting language to create an animation or movie, using the basic concepts of color and design, creating backgrounds and characters for the animation. WEBMASTERING
(TAWEBMAS) Students learn foundations of communicating effectively through the World Wide Web. Students demonstrate competency by creating and maintaining a personal website designed to display their skills and knowledge. Students will have the opportunity to learn the latest versions of Fireworks, Flash and Dreamweaver programs as well as obtain a solid foundation in HTML. Other topics include: knowledge of hardware components and software applications; data input skills; technology issues in society; information acquisition and advanced search techniques; evaluation of electronic information; copyright issues; use of computer productivity tools to create and modify problems and solutions; integrating Internet technology across academic curriculum; applying Internet technology to business and job market situation; creating and formatting digital information and multimedia objects to create web pages. WEBMASTERING II
– Independent Study Technology Applications (WEBMA2 TAIND1) Students go beyond the foundations of communicating effectively through the World Wide Web through advanced technology applications and skills. Students enrolled in this course are instrumental in helping to maintain the campus website and performing other web related duties throughout the District. [Top] ACCOUNTING

(BEGACCT1) Accounting is the development of planning, keeping, and analyzing financial records, which will provide necessary ability for employment and/or to continue formal education in the business field. All students pursing a Business degree or related degree in college or who plan to pursue business related careers would benefit from this introductory course. Students will have the opportunity to be introduced to computerized Accounting through Peachtree. [Top]

(ADVACC) Students build on their Accounting I knowledge to further provide the solid foundation necessary for employment and/or to continue formal education in the business field. Students planning to continue with a formal education in Accounting or related business fields are strongly urged to complete this course for preparation. (RKPG) Recordkeeping is the development of skills related to beginning bookkeeping principles and procedures as used in everyday business activities at home and at work. [Top]
