buying bHISD bonds: information for investors |
|||
Disclaimer: No person should make any investment decision based solely on the information contained herein. Barbers Hill ISD issues bonds to finance the construction, renovation and expansion of schools. Proceeds from bonds support capital improvements - not the day-to-day operating expenses of the school district. Bonds issued by BHISD are debt obligations. That is, when you purchase a BHISD bond, you are lending money to the school district in exchange for the payment of a certain level of interest and the return of the principal amount on a specific date. BHISD does not sell its bonds directly to the public. To buy BHISD bonds, which are sold in increments of $5,000 each, you should contact your registered broker or financial advisor and provide him or her with the CUSIP prefix and suffix number for identification purposes. Attached please find the first two pages of the Official Statement for the $9,500,000 Series 2011 bonds. Page 2 of the attachment includes the identifying CUSIP prefix and suffix for each maturity and the final terms as well. Your broker may use the identifying CUSIPS to research the availability of these bonds in the secondary market. |
