It is an honor and a privilege to be the principal of Barbers Hill Elementary and to be part of the BHISD tradition of excellence. Great things happen at this campus every day because we are fortunate to have an outstanding staff, wonderful children, and a supportive community.

Our faculty is committed to excellence. It is our mission to motivate and equip a community of learners where individual excellence is expected from students, faculty and parents. We realize we are working together as unified partners so that we can provide a strong foundation for a successful future.

We have amazing students at Barbers Hill Elementary and we continually seek ways to recognize and honor them. Each six weeks, homeroom teachers elect a Star Student. These students are chosen based on their strong work ethic. In addition, fourteen School Ambassadors are chosen each six weeks based on citizenship. Daily we celebrate our “Shooting Stars.” These are students who go “above and beyond” to do their work or help a friend. Special annual Texas Hero Awards will be given at the end of the school year. Each month, in the spring semester, students will be introduced to a Texas hero and the character traits that made that person exceptional. Special awards will be given at the end of the year to students who exemplify that same character trait.

In addition to amazing students, I have been astounded by the community support extended to Barbers Hill Elementary. Our parents support the school by attending all school events such as our Eagle Launch, Meet the Teacher Night, and Family Reading Night. In addition, parents volunteer each week to help the teachers in a wide variety of ways. Our parents plan our school parties and chaperone on our field trips in addition to many other activities. Local businesses support our campus by donating items for our special events and serving as members on our Campus Improvement Team. In addition, community members serve as mentors for students who need additional assistance with some of the lessons or school work.
