The following alternative opportunities are available for CPE  and or technology credit . 
  

NOTES:  It is the responsibility of the individual employee to ensure he/she has enough hours for exchange days or make up days, or enough CPEs for certification purposes.  No one should depend on a single provider for the required hours. While every effort is made to ensure a variety of training opportunities, there is no guarantee that any course or courses published for presentation by BHISD will meet your individual requirements.

Several local colleges and universities provide classroom professional development opportunities that are acceptable for technology credit as well as college credit.   Please contact technology for approval prior to taking course.  Request Approval

 

 

Texas Computer Educators' Association (TCEA) 2008 Training

Self-paced Opportunities offered by BHISD Technology

Creating a technology-rich project in your subject area.     CPE:  6 hours

CPE:  6 hours, self-paced

Participants will research, create, and present a complete project which incorporates technology in their subject areas.  This should be a project that the participants plan to use in an actual classroom setting.  A brief proposal must be submitted at the beginning of the project.  The final project shall include bibliography, complete lesson plan that includes the TAKS or TEKS requirements, differentiation for GT and/or Special Ed students,  materials list,  and time frame for presentation in a student class will be required.  Cross-subject collaboration is acceptable for team teachers.  Successful completion for credit will require 45-minute presentation of the lesson(s) to committee peer group.   For more information or to register for this session:   Email BMansel@bhisd.net

If you find a professional development opportunity that might be of interest for yourself and others in the district, please let us know.  We are always trying to broaden our opportunities.  Likewise, if you have an idea for a professional development training session, whether technology, curriculum, GT, etc, please let us know.  We try to tailor opportunities to interest as well as need.  We won't guarantee we can meet the request, but we will try.  Submit Request/opportunity
