As a counselor, I often work with students who feel threatened, humiliated or unwanted by their peers. Many students feel that way because they have been a victim of bullying.
The SHOUT! Program gives students the tools to practice tolerance and to respect others while giving them a voice and strength in numbers to change their own school climate. The students of SHOUT! believe that in order to combat bullying, students must learn to empathize and care about others. One of the tools that we use to help defeat the humiliation of bullying is the tool of kindness.
Throughout this school year, SHOUT! Students will meet, learn and plan many activities that will celebrate kindness. We will post the many kindness activities on this website and hope that the students and staff of BHMS, as well as parents and community members will join us in celebrating kindness.
