This innovative training will help all teachers transform their classrooms into vibrant spaces where students can use academic language to talk, read, write, and think about each lesson’s content. This 7 Steps training outlines a dynamic process for structuring, planning, and facilitating a language-rich classroom. In addition, participants gain knowledge of helpful ways to integrate both content and language standards when planning instruction. They also receive specific strategies for differentiating instruction so that all learners within the classroom can build their ability to discuss and communicate academic concepts effectively.

The DBQ Project

The Introductory Workshop is designed to empower educators new to The DBQ Project with the confidence to foster interactive and inquiry-based classrooms. Teachers will experience The DBQ Project’s 6-Step Method, helping them structure lessons to engage students in critical thinking, deep analysis of primary and secondary sources, and evidence-based writing techniques. They will leave with concrete strategies for developing targeted reading instruction, fostering academic conversations, and enhancing writing skills. The workshop will also help teachers develop effective feedback and scoring techniques around student writing.

Teaching for Rigor, Depth, & Complexity
This course will deepen your understanding of curriculum tailored for gifted learners, equip you with national standards, and enhance your ability to design rigorous, enriching lessons. Through interactive modules and guided discussions, you’ll master evidence-based methods to adapt and differentiate curriculum to meet unique academic needs of gifted and high-ability students.
Supporting Twice Exceptional Learners
This course provides educators with an understanding of twice-exceptional students. Participants will explore how giftedness and disability can coexist within the same individual, often in ways that mask one another, and learn to recognize the complex profiles of 2E learners who may be overlooked or underserved in traditional school systems. Fulfills 6-hour GT update for TX teachers, counselors, and administrators.
Foundations Teacher Training
Baylor University GT Foundation Teacher Training are new to working and providing instruction and services that are part of the defined gifted/talented services in schools. This course includes the nature and needs of gifted and talented students, identification and assessment of gifted and talented students, and curriculum and instruction for gifted and talented students.

Certified provider: Barbers Hill ISD is a TEA-certified provider of professional development training.
Scheduled in-service days: sessions offered during scheduled in-service times may offer CPE hours, but will not be available for exchange purposes unless otherwise noted.
Technology-sponsored sessions: certain technology-sponsored sessions may (with principal approval) qualify as exchange hours.
Responsibility of individual: It is the responsibility of the individual employee to ensure he/she has enough hours for exchange days or make up days, or enough CPEs for certification purposes.
