District Calendar

The Barbers Hill ISD Board of Trustees approved calling a bond election on January 26. The proposed $95 million bond focuses on improving athletic and multi-purpose facilities across the district and will not increase the current tax rate.

Key points include:

• Replacement of the existing fieldhouse with a modern, multi-purpose athletic fieldhouse that will be a facility designed to:
  • support volleyball, basketball, fine arts, and large-scale events such as convocations, graduation ceremonies, and community gatherings.
  • better accommodate fine arts performances, with the potential to reduce the need for multiple showings
• Replacement of football dressing facilities at the stadium
• Stadium upgrades, including improvements to lighting, concessions, restrooms, and safety-related infrastructure

Barbers Hill ISD’s annual “Walk Together for Mental Health” starts at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 2 at Eagle Stadium. 
The community is invited to join Barbers Hill administrators, teachers, counselors, and students on the walk to raise awareness about youth mental health issues.
The American Academy of Pediatrics has declared a national emergency over youth mental health. Moreover, statistics show that one in five children will have a serious mental health condition, with 50% of all lifetime cases beginning by age 14. 

This year’s theme is Viva Las Vegas, and our talented students are bringing the excitement, energy, and entertainment to the stage.
