COUNSELOR’S CORNER

November is a month of family and thankfulness. On Friday, November 9, BHEN will show our appreciation to members of our military, past and present, for their sacrifice to keep our country protected and free. Please join us in  honoring our heroes at the Veterans Day program. There will be two programs. The 4th /5th grade program will begin at 9 a.m. and 2nd/3rd grade will begin at 2:00 p.m. We hope you will come to one of our programs to help us honor  our veterans.

Throughout the month of November, may we all reflect on that which we are thankful.

A Note from the Principal...

November is the time we share the many reasons we are thankful.  First, I am thankful to be part of a community who supports our school district.  Parents, I cannot say thank you enough for partnering with us as we diligently work to provide a top notch education for our children.  I am thankful for our awesome staff who goes above and beyond to meet the needs of our students. They are truly the North Stars for kids and never cease to amaze me when it comes to collaborating, planning, and assessing best practices.  During this season of giving thanks, I hope you are able to spend time with those that matter the most…….family and friends for whom you are thankful.

Attendance Matters!
Our attendance goal for our campus and district is 98%. Last month our campus percentage fell to 96%. As we strive to meet our campus goal please try to schedule appointments for after school if possible.  If this is not possible, please schedule appointments where students can come to school and stay until at least 10:00 AM. This helps our attendance rate. Thank you for your support!

Military Service Project

All students at BHEN have been encouraged to bring a multitude of non-perishable items to collect for our troops overseas.  We will be mailing these items before Thanksgiving break in order for them to receive their packages by Christmas.
We are still in need of:
stamps & monetary donations for shipping costs.  Donation will be accepted through Thursday, November 8th.
Can Food Drive
Student Council will be heading up our campus food drive for our community food bank.  The food drive begins Wednesday, Nov. 1st and ends Friday, Nov. 10th. We will have a contest and the grade level with the most cans collected will receive a special treat.
