Select Academic Team

Students are invited to be members of the Select Academic Team (S.A.T.) as a result of their strong academic achievements on the SAT, ACT, or EXPLORE exams. To participate on the team, scores on those exam(s) had to be at or above the 98th percentile which places them in the top two percent of students in the United States.
The goals of the Select Academic Team are to provide academic enrichment activities to position these students to become National Merit Scholars, to obtain admission into the colleges of their choice, and to become competitive for college scholarships. As members of the Select Academic Team, students will have the opportunity to participate in annual academic summer activities and to meet regularly with an academic coach. Annual summer activities will include field-based experiences such as job shadowing, cultural and fine arts events, visits to college campuses, and opportunities to interact with experts in various fields.
Semi-monthly meetings with an academic coach are held before or after school during the school year. Activities for team members will be recommended to further knowledge in specific areas of interests and will help prepare students for mastering college entrance exams.
