National Junior Honor Society

The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) is the middle school level of the National Honor Society. This group is the premier organization established to recognize outstanding middle school students. This is more than just an honor roll: NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Character and Citizenship.      By Laws

NJHS at Barbers Hill Middle School South

The Barbers Hill Middle School South NJHS follows the guidelines of the National Organization and the bylaws set by the local chapter.

Eligibility

To be eligible for membership at the Barbers Hill Middle School South chapter of NJHS, you must meet the following five specific standards. 

 Selection Procedures and Membership Obligations

Scholarship

Candidates must meet one of the following grading standards. Students enrolled in one PreAP class must obtain a cumulative average of 93.75 in their core classes. Students enrolled in two PreAP classes must obtain a cumulative average of 92.5 in their core classes. Student in three PreAP classes must obtain a cumulative average of 91.25 in their core classes, and those in four PreAP classes must obtain a 90 cumulative average in their core classes. Those enrolled in all regular education classes must obtain an overall 95 average in their core classes.

Service

Students should show some evidence or interest to doing community service.
