Student Handbooks

Education is a team effort, and students, parents, teachers, and other staff members working together can make this a successful year.

The Barbers Hill ISD Student Handbook is a general reference guide and divided into two sections and is organized alphabetically. Section II: Other Important Information for Parents and Students provides information on a wide variety of topics such as:

  • Attendance
  • Dress and Grooming Code
  • Fees
  • Immunizations
  • Safety
  • Transportation

Where applicable, it is divided by age and/or grade level.

The Student Handbook is designed to align with board policy and the Student Code of Conduct, a board-adopted document intended to promote school safety and an atmosphere for learning. The Student Handbook is not meant to be a complete statement of all policies, procedures, or rules in any given circumstance. Specific campus or grade level information can be found on individual school webpages.

The Student Handbook is updated annually; however, policy adoption and revisions may occur throughout the year. The district encourages parents to stay informed of changes by attending campus and district meetings, reviewing newsletter and other communications explaining changes in policy or other rules that affect Student Handbook provisions. The district reserves the right to modify the Student Handbook at any time. Notice of revisions will be provided as is reasonably practical.
